Mallard Creek, Or.

We left Monaco Svc. Ctr. Thurs. and are now at Mallard Creek which is outside of Lebanon, OR.  We will have to go back to Monaco Sept. 16 to have a part replaced on an airbag leak.  We had another new battery installed and a new alternator, and leveling system.  Our Good Sam insurance paid all but $300. We will stay here at Mallord Creek until then.  This is a small RV park that is in a beautiful, quiet setting with an 18 hole golf course.  We played golf with Jerry and Jean Thornton, who we met at the Monaco Rally.  They were right behind us as we were registering at the park.  We had a good time.  Jean had a great game.  We had dinner (bbq hamburgers) with them as well and a couple of cocktails.  Lovely people.  Hope to get some pictures of them before they leave to go back to the Napa aeea in CA.  They are staying a week.  I will have pictures of the park to include later.

January - Feb. 13 - Tucson

January was non-eventful.  The weather was very windy, rainy.  We went to Kiersten's soccer games.  Also went to the Gem show and bought jewelry to sell.  The gem show is world known for wholesale and retail jewelry.  Our last night in Tucson, we took Jenni and girls to El Coral for ribs.  It use to be one of our favorite restaurants that was reasonably priced.  We hadn't been there for 10 yrs.  It wasn't as good as we remembered nor as good tasting.

Kiersten, Kali and her friend
We spent Christmas Eve @ Jennis and Panchos house with the kids and his mom and dad, brother, sister and nieces and nephews plus some friends of theirs.  They always invited a big crowd for the holidays and Jenni does most of the cooking. It was a great meal as usual! Lots of food for all and presents.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2009

After  Thanksgiving Jenni and I made banana, zucchini breads and candy for the holidays.  It was a lot of fun doing that and I haven't done it for many years. We celebrated Larry's 64th Birthday in our motorhome.  Jenni made her dad chicken enchiladas and I bought an ice cream cake.  We had Pancho, Nick, AJ and Jenni and Kali and Kiersten all in our motorhome and we even played Mexican Train.

Nov. 17, 2009 - Beaudry RV Resort, Tucson, AZ

We arrived at Beaudry RV Resort, Tucson.  We are going to have some coach work done.  As we were leaving Meridian RV Resort, our slide outs would not come in.
Beaudry's RV Park, Tucson, AZ
RV site
All the bays were securely shut, so we called a mobile tech that was recommended by Meridian RV Pk. It wound up being a fuse that needed replacement.  It cost us $400 for 2 hrs time.  We are new bees in the RV lifestyle and this guy really took advantage of us.  We are certainly learning as we go and it has cost us dearly, but we are getting so we can do little troubleshooting ourselves. We are anxious to see our daughter, Jenni, and granddaughters, Kali and Kiersten.

Britt, Mira and Gina At Gilbert's Public Park
We Stayed in Meridian RV Park.  We took Rob, Britt, Gino, Mira to Gilbert's Public Park for a picnic and train ride.  I hadn't seen our great grandkids for awhile and they have really grown. We had such a great time with them, and they are so adorable.  Our granddaughter, Britt, works for a local hospital in the billing dept. Rob, our son, had bought us some of our favorite salad dressing from Buddy's Restaurant in Pocatello, ID.  Years ago we use to eat there for their salad and Italian Sausage sandwiches.  It was expensive to have it sent.  It tasted so wonderful after so many years.  We moved from Pocatello in 1983. We will leave Tues. to go to Tucson to stay for a couple of months at Beaudry's RV Park.  Out daughter, Jenni, and two granddaughter, Kali and Kiersten.

August 18, 2010 Spokane, WA

Our coach is still in the shop, but they have found part of the problem -the alternator needs to be replaced.  Hopefully, they will finish up tomorrow and we will have to go back Coburg, the Monaco plant to have service to see if there is any other damage.  The last time our battery fried, it ruined our leveling system. Hopefully, we will get back there without any further problems. So, we are probably not going to make it to Montana, as I don't know how long we will be at Coburg.

Our New Travel Adventure -Nov. 4, 2009

Shadow Ridge RV Resort, Palm Desert, CA
-November 4, 2009
Aspen RV Resort, Durango, CO
Today we started our new adventure.  We sold our home in Palm Desert, CA, and bought a motorhome in Durango, CO.  We stayed at the Alpen Rose RV Park.
Then went back to Palm Desert to get new TV's installed.  We stayed at the Shadow Ridge RV resort for about 9 days while it was being done and then headed for Az. for the winter.

August 17, 2010 Coach Breakdown, Spokane, WA

We were having a great, scenic drive when our transmission lights came on and we immediately pulled over to the side of I90 about 3 miles outside of Spokane, WA.
Our coach just died and we called Good Sam Roadside Assistance.  It took 4 hrs. before someone came to tow us.  The coach was towed to a truck repair shop.  The batteries were fried which shocked us because we had just gotten new batteries in June and had also had our Cummins engine serviced.  Larry is still waiting with our coach to find out what else is going on.  Meantime, I am here in the Days Inn writing my block until he gets back.  I hope we will be able to leave tomorrow to go to Coeur d'Alene.  The alternator had to be replaced as well.  It fried our leveling system, so they are going to get the coach so we can drive it back to Monaco Svc. center
to get that taken care of as well as a leaking air bag that probably was damaged in towing.   We will drive as far as Portland for the night and then head to Monaco.

8-11 Thru 8-14-10 FMCA RALLY - REDMOND, OR

Today is the third day at the rally! A lot of walking to and from seminars, viewing coaches and seeing the vendors.  This was our first FMCA rally and first Monaco rally.  We have learned a great deal and have spent a great deal for enhancing our coach.  We have met a lot of friendly people!  We are staying at the Crooked River Ranch RV Resort in Terrebonne instead of at the fairgrounds.  It is a 30 min. drive.  By the time we get home, we have had a full day.
Tomorrow is the last day and a couple more seminars to attend.  We will leave for Montana on Monday.
